How to Play Avengers Tower

The setup you need to know

Avengers Tower was the map for Path to Doomsday: Avengers: Age of Ultron, the second chapter of the event series that builds up to the Avengers: Doomsday film. Unlike the first chapter, it was a co-op mode for four players fighting Ultron's robot army together instead of each other. It ran from July 30 to August 27, 2026 and is not in the game right now, but it may come back with a future event.

A run is eleven stages long, and the stages are the same on both difficulties. Common is the starting difficulty, and Hard unlocks after you clear the mode once, adding more enemies that hit harder. After every stage each player picks two upgrades, either skill enhancements or stat boosts.

Only seven Avengers were playable: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Scarlet Witch, each with a kit reworked for PvE. There were no healers, so the health packs placed around the arena were the only way to recover.

The early stages

The first stage is a warm-up against basic walkers. Ranged bots and flying drones join in stages two and three, along with elite robots whose charge can take out a hero in one hit, so keep track of them and dodge sideways when they line up. From stage four, enemies come from the front and both sides at once, and bomb drones start rushing the team. The door you start next to works as cover, so fight from it instead of spreading out. Stage six brings large eye drones that should die before anything else.

The Ultron fights

Stage seven is the first fight against Ultron himself. He fires a targeted beam, calls in drones and fills the area with lasers. When a warning icon appears over your hero, the beam is aimed at you: move, break line of sight behind a pillar, or put a shield up.

Stages eight to ten open a new area with enemies arriving from every direction and elites that swing fire. The final stage is the second Ultron fight, much tougher than the first. The arena is a set of platforms linked by jump pads, wall turrets fire lasers that can kill in one shot, and the team has to keep FRIDAY alive. When Ultron drops to around a quarter of his health he releases all of his drones at once. They all fall when he does, so the fastest way out is to burst him down rather than chase the swarm.

How to clear it

Choose skill upgrades before stat boosts. Ranged heroes should stay back or in the middle of the arena, while melee heroes guard the doors enemies pour out of. Save big ultimates for the end of the final stage.

Hero picks

Iron Man was the safest choice because Ultron spends much of the fight in the air. Scarlet Witch had the highest ceiling, and Hulk and Hawkeye were strong all-rounders. Grounded heroes with short range struggled most in the Ultron fights.
