When to Leave 2-2-2
Two Vanguards share the job of taking space and soaking damage, two Duelists have enough damage to finish kills, and two Strategists can cover each other's cooldowns. Any other split gives up one of those, which is why 2-2-2 has the highest win rate at every rank.
A third Strategist helps on long fights around a point, when the enemy has a lot of burst and your team keeps losing fights to picks. A third Duelist only works when one Vanguard can hold the front line alone and the Duelists play together. If the team needs more frontline against a dive comp, a third Vanguard is the safer swap.
Before switching, check the enemy team on the counters page: swapping one hero is usually better than changing the whole role split.
Team Comps FAQ
What is the best team comp in Marvel Rivals?
2-2-2 (two Vanguards, two Duelists, two Strategists). It has the highest ranked win rate in Season 10.5, 53.6%, and 70.6% of teams run it. It is the only role split that wins more than half of its games.
What does 2-2-2 mean in Marvel Rivals?
It counts heroes per role in the order Vanguard, Duelist, Strategist. 2-2-2 is two tanks, two damage heroes and two supports; 1-3-2 is one tank, three damage and two supports; 2-1-3 is two tanks, one damage and three supports.
Is triple support good in Marvel Rivals?
Triple Support (2-1-3) wins 40.0% of ranked games in Season 10.5 and 5.1% of teams play it, against 53.6% for 2-2-2. It keeps a team alive through long fights but gives up damage, so it struggles to finish kills. It does best at Celestial+, where it wins 46.2%.
Is triple DPS good in Marvel Rivals?
Triple DPS (1-3-2) wins 45.9% of ranked games in Season 10.5 and 14.3% of teams play it, against 53.6% for 2-2-2. A single Vanguard has to hold space alone, so it usually comes from nobody wanting to tank rather than from a plan. It does best at Bronze to Platinum, where it wins 48.8%.
Is triple tank good in Marvel Rivals?
Triple Tank (3-1-2) wins 40.3% of ranked games in Season 10.5 and only 2.5% of teams run it. It brings a lot of health and crowd control, but with one Duelist the team has little damage to convert fights into kills. It does best at Celestial+, where it wins 49.6%.
Which heroes should I pick in a 2-2-2?
By ranked win rate in Season 10.5: Peni Parker and Devil Dinosaur as Vanguards, Gorr and Magik as Duelists and Ultron and Rocket Raccoon as Strategists. Pick heroes you can play well first; the role split matters more than the exact heroes.
