How to Play Hall of Djalia
The setup you need to know
This is a Convergence map. It uses Convoy mechanics, while Birnin T'Challa uses Domination. Don't confuse these two Wakanda-themed maps. Hall of Djalia follows the standard Convoy format with three distinct phases: a capture phase where teams fight for initial control, an escort phase where the attacking team guides the payload through checkpoints, and a final push to reach the destination within the Hall itself.
It's the simplest of any Convoy map in terms of layout, but there are still plenty of things to learn about. It consists of 3 sections: a capture point and 2 escort checkpoints.
Playing as attacker
For the capture phase, if you're playing as an attacker, be sure to clear the big tree on the left as you exit your first spawn. Defenders love to perch there for early picks.
This is a Convergence map, so committing as a team for the initial cap is everything. Don't trickle in. The capture point usually has multiple entry routes, and the team that arrives together with a coordinated push usually wins it.
For the escort phase, use the map's verticality. The Hall of Djalia has rooftops, balconies, and elevated walkways throughout. Get fliers and climbers onto high ground to angle on defenders before your main team commits.
Each section offers multiple approach routes, flanking opportunities, and defensive positions that can dramatically influence match outcomes. Send a flanker through a side route while your main group pressures the convoy path. The map is symmetrical enough that whatever route defenders ignore is your way in.
For the final push into the Hall, expect heavy resistance. Defenders will stack at the door. This is where ult economy matters most. Don't drop ults one at a time, chain them: a Magneto ult to absorb their burst, followed by a Punisher or Storm ult to clear them off the point.
Playing as defender
For the capture point, stack defenders at the natural chokes and watch the flanks. Multiple approach routes mean attackers can come from several angles. Have one person on flank watch instead of stacking on the main entrance.
For the escort phases, use Groot walls aggressively. The narrow hallways through the convoy path are tailor-made for wall denial. A well-placed wall plus a Peni nest behind it can shut down attackers indefinitely.
On the final stretch into the Hall, post snipers on the elevated positions overlooking the door. The map has a ton of verticality, though a few spots are either too tall or too niche to encourage camping. Find the high ground that actually overlooks the payload path, not the dead-end spots, then hold it.
Stagger management is everything as defender here. Since this is a Convergence map, a team wipe during the capture phase can reset capture progress entirely. If you lose three players, regroup and walk in together rather than feeding one by one.
General things that matter
Typically, a good Rush team that communicates well could easily win if there's good mobility within the team. There are better teams to choose for each side of the convoy, so play to the entire team's advantage.
Mobility is the single biggest factor on this map. Spider-Man, Venom, Storm, Iron Man, and Star-Lord all eat well because they bypass the long corridors that grounded heroes have to walk through. If you queue a slow grounded hero with no team mobility support, you'll feel constantly behind.
The verticality cuts both ways. Use the elevated positions to off-angle, but don't get caught isolated up there without support. A lone sniper on a roof is just a Spider-Man kill waiting to happen.
Bonus tip: if you're hunting the King of the Dead trophy/achievement, this is the map for it. It requires a triple kill specifically on Hall of Djalia using Black Panther. Throw your spear to apply the Vibranium Mark, then activate your Ultimate where the healers and damage characters are concentrated.
Last thing: this is the map where teamfight coordination matters more than individual mechanics. The simple layout means there are fewer "trick" plays, so the team that fights together and commits ults together wins. Don't try to solo carry Hall of Djalia. Play with your team, and play around the choke pressure.
