How to Play Museum of Contemplation
The setup you need to know
This is a three-zone Convoy map with very different environments. Players must adapt team composition as the match goes on because every portion has different characteristics. Close combat heroes excel in the Gallery, the Garden is ideal for mobile fighters, and the plaza is open and rewards long-range and aerial control.
The environment is highly destructible, and the destruction here feels more tactical. Blowing out a wall in the Censer room can reveal a flank route that completely bypasses a defensive setup. Don't ignore destructibles, they're often the difference between a stalled push and a clean break.
Playing as attacker
Right from the start of the escort path, battles tend to be chaotic because of the many route options available. The first room contains several unused cages that can be used as cover. Use them. Don't push into the open without breaking line of sight on defender snipers.
For point one (Gallery), the Gallery door is the first choke area, with a corridor immediately after that forces fights in tight spaces. A right-side service door allows attackers to flank, so that route is huge. Send a flanker through the service door while your main team pressures the door. If you W-key the front, Groot walls and Peni nests will eat you alive.
For point two (Garden), just like the first section, this spot offers multiple routes for attacking flankers to break through and approach from the rear. The path features many rooms and side routes that allow flankers to move around freely.
Don't sleep on the side path with the bridge. The bridge overlooks most of the entry points, so controlling it makes the choke much easier. If defenders own the bridge, send a diver or flier to dislodge them before committing your main push.
For the final plaza, switch gears completely. It's best to adapt here and switch to heroes with stronger range and better long-distance presence. The wide-open layout means flying heroes and long-ranged heroes thrive. If you locked in Magik for the Gallery, swap to Hela or Iron Man for the plaza. Don't be stubborn.
Also use the cliff edge offensively. Knockback heroes can score free environmental kills here.
Playing as defender
On point one, hold the Gallery door choke. This is your strongest hold on the map. Stack a Groot or Peni in the corridor behind, put your tank at the door, and force attackers to commit before you fall back.
Watch the right-side service door religiously. One person on flank watch is non-negotiable here. If they get behind your line, your whole hold collapses.
For point two, the bridge is everything. If the defending team can secure this area, which overlooks most of the entry points, the attackers will have a much harder time pushing through the choke point. Lose the bridge and you lose the point.
Burst heroes such as Squirrel Girl, Winter Soldier, The Punisher, Moon Knight, and Phoenix are great choices for defending this section.
For the plaza, you need range. Flying and long-range heroes who can hold high walkways and snipe from above thrive in the final area. Don't try to brawl attackers here, you'll get out-poked.
Also watch for the cliff. The same edge you can use offensively works against you. Don't position near the drop without a good escape.
General things that matter
The map rewards teams that use verticality and adaptation. Mobility heroes should seize high ground and doorways while roamers seek out healers and snipers from unexpected angles.
Save large AoE ultimates for fights in chokepoints. Use wide-area ults at the Gallery door or at Garden intersections to clear defenders holding narrow approaches. In the plaza, global or wide ultimates that hit multiple enemies are perfect for securing the final stretch.
The bridges throughout the map provide excellent vantage points for both attackers and defenders, so controlling them is crucial. With so much verticality and plenty of rooms to juke enemies, high-mobility heroes shine on this map.
The payload route in the final section is mostly a straight line with very few chokepoints, so expect full-on head-to-head team clashes all the way to the finish line. The team with the stronger composition and better combos will have the advantage in this final stretch.
Last thing: this map punishes inflexibility more than most. If you queue Black Panther and refuse to swap for the plaza, you'll spend the final point getting kited by Iron Man and Storm. The best Museum players have two or three heroes ready to go depending on which zone the fight is in.
Also, while you're playing, look for the Secret Stash achievement on point two by inspecting a cage directly in front of the checkpoint entrance. Easy free unlock.
