How to Play Yggdrasill Path

The setup you need to know

The map is divided into 3 small objectives. The first is the spawn area for the attackers, the second is the windy chokepoint, and the third is the final stretch to the finish line.

A key map gimmick: Loki (or a clone/variant) rebuilds the map's destructible terrain periodically. So if you broke a wall to open a sightline, expect it to come back. Plan your destructible plays around this rather than assuming the change is permanent.

Playing as attacker

In most games, attacking players will flood out the front door to reach the convoy. There's a useful side route out of the line of sight of the typical defense setup that lets you break through much easier. Don't be the team that just W-keys out the front door.

On point one, the red route connects to a side spawn door and gives you discreet access to three pressure points: behind the enemy team, above the enemy team, and beside the objective. These are the safest ways to break through defenses. The green route gives balcony access directly above the enemy team, perfect for heroes like Moon Knight to terrorize the backline, though it carries higher risk since you have to push next to the payload to enter.

Point two is U-shaped with a short lane at the beginning and end, and an elongated middle section. There's a well-placed health pack room at the center that provides quick healing for flanking and pivot strategies.

At the start of section two, there's a destructible glass pane covering an elevated walkway. Characters like Punisher, Moon Knight, or Loki can use this to gain tactical vantage points without exposing themselves directly from the convoy.

The third checkpoint is more confined and enclosed than the previous sections, with shorter sightlines and many corners acting as chokepoints. Here, defensive play and tactical positioning matter most. Be ready to swap from a sniper to a brawler or close-range DPS for the final push if needed.

Playing as defender

When defenders are also on the cart, it becomes the Vanguard's job to stay on the payload while the Strategists fall back. Rotate around the payload to use it as indestructible cover.

On defense, contesting progress with just one or two heroes alive can be effective for running down the attackers' clock. Don't always commit your last few players to fights you can't win. Sometimes stalling on the payload is more valuable than dying for picks.

Use the side routes against attackers. The same flank doors they use to get behind your defense work just as well for getting behind their team after they push past you.

In the final phase, focus on denying high ground and systematically dismantling enemy sniping positions. Building and destroying floors or nearby buildings can help neutralize the attacker advantage.

General things that matter

The destructible terrain rebuild mechanic is genuinely useful, especially for defenders. If attackers broke a wall to open a sightline, wait for Loki's clone to put it back and your defensive cover returns automatically.

Verticality matters more here than on most maps. The map has elevated walkways, balconies, and high ground positions throughout. Heroes that can reach high ground (fliers, grapplers, climbers) get massive value, while grounded heroes without mobility tools can feel exposed.

If the enemy is dealing heavy ranged damage, use walls and smart positioning to reduce your team's exposure to sniper fire. Don't push the open areas without a shield tank up front. A Magneto or Doctor Strange shield is the difference between crossing open ground and getting headshot before you arrive.

Last thing: this map rewards practiced flank routes more than almost any other Convoy map. Spend some time learning the side doors and hidden paths, because most players just push the main convoy route and get stuck. The team that uses the flanks consistently wins point one, which usually snowballs the rest of the match.
